Counter Narcotics Designations; Publication of Amendments to the Syria-Related Sanctions Regulations

The Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) is issuing a final rule amending the Syria-Related Sanctions Regulations, 31 CFR Part 569, to, among other things, change the heading of the Syria-Related Sanctions Regulations to the Promoting Accountability for Assad and Regional Stabilization Sanctions Regulations, and to implement Syria-related Executive Order 14142 (issued January 15, 2025) and Syria-related Executive Order 14312 (issued June 30, 2025).

These regulatory amendments are currently available for public inspection with the Federal Register and will take effect upon publication in the Federal Register on September 25, 2025. 

Additionally, OFAC has updated its Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons List.
