Implementation of the Federal Civil Penalties Inflation Adjustment Act

On March 19, 2018, the Department of the Treasury issued regulations to implement the Federal Civil Penalties Inflation Adjustment Act of 1990.  These regulations, which were effective March 19, 2018, adjust for inflation the maximum amount of the civil monetary penalties that may be assessed under relevant Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) regulations.
