Reminder of change to SDN data files:

OFAC gave users of the SDN fixed-width data files advanced notice of a change being made to the SDN.FF file. This notice was provided in the README.TXT file which accompanies all OFAC SDN data sets.

The "remarks" column in SDN.FF is being expanded by an additional 300 characters to a total of 600 characters in width.

This change will occur with the next SDN list update.

For more detail on this change, please consult the README.TXT file which is contained inside the DOS, Windows and UNIX-Ready delimited archives available in the SDN section of OFAC's website.

In order to ease the transition to the modified data format, OFAC will also release with the next SDN list update, a set of data files with the remarks field formatted at 300 characters.

This will be the final release of the files with the original 300 character remarks field width. In order to ensure that the older format can be distinguished from the new data, the nomenclature of the old files will change.

The SDN data files with the remarks field formatted at 300 characters width will have the following names:

old_sdn.del
old_add.del
old_alt.del
old_sdn.ff
old_add.ff
old_alt.ff

The SDN data files with the remarks field formatted with a width of 600 characters will follow the original naming convention:

sdn.del
add.del
alt.del
sdn.ff
add.ff
alt.ff

Questions about these changes should be directed to OFAC's Compliance Hotline.
