FAQ Archive

The FAQ archive enables users to view amendments that OFAC has made to current FAQs by displaying prior, inactive version of FAQs alongside the current version of the same FAQ.

Please note, this archive does not include versions of inactive FAQs that have been fully rescinded.  The date at the top of each FAQ is the date on which OFAC published each version.  To review current OFAC guidance, consult active FAQs on OFAC’s main Frequently Asked Questions page.

Important note for users:  On March 22, 2023, OFAC migrated its existing FAQs to its new website.  FAQs that were rescinded before March 22, 2023, will not appear in this archive, while FAQs that were active will display the migration date, March 22, 2023, rather than the date OFAC first published that version of the FAQ.

FAQ Archive Search Results

FAQ archive search results include, in reverse chronological order, prior, inactive versions of FAQs alongside the current, active version of the same FAQ.  The date at the top of each FAQ indicates the date on which OFAC published each version or, if relevant, the date on which OFAC migrated and republished the FAQ on its new website.  FAQs with a migration date of March 22, 2023, reflect the date the FAQ was republished on OFAC’s new website rather than the date that OFAC first published that version of the FAQ.  For historic information, you may review OFAC’s Recent Actions dating back to 2001. For a complete list of all active FAQs, please visit OFAC’s main Frequently Asked Questions page. This tool is currently in its beta state as we continue to refine and enhance its functionality.
